2nd Nov 2022 - our Day of the Dead in
Cornwall
Red sky in
the morning - it's going to blow and rain...
...but first, some marigolds at the Hart of the Wud (see Master Chaynjis).
Then later, up to the burial ground with pasties and other things:
actually, although it was blowing, and Ben's grave is facing the
wind, there are trees all round, so it wasn't too windy......and
it didn't rain.
(There is a video, to give a
feeling of our Dia de los Muertos at the Burial ground...and also
a link to the music
we used)
This is Frank's grave.
When we got back to Phoenix Barn, it poured and let the floods
abroad (for half an hour) but the ofrenda was safe, and I was even
able to open the door, without everything blowing around, so Ben
could slip in...
In the morning, Jenny and I went up to
tidy, leaving Ben's grave looking 'acceptable' again...
...this is a wider view of the burial ground, with Ben's grave
under a wild cherry tree.
Eventually, it will be a lovely mature woodland, absolutely full
of fruit trees.

Hi Andrew,
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing that significant and
lovely moment with us. I am sure that Ben was happy to see you and
have a beer with all of you there!
Send you hugs, Yael
[Thank you, Yael and Michael!
I looked through the wonderful pictures on BenWeb showing lots
of ofrendas/shrines/photos: just scroll down from https://www.benmarshallcorser.com/BenWeb/2022-10-20.html#Yaels_ofrenda
...
This will definitely become part of my earth calendar now:
Winter Solstice (to be celebrated in honour of Ben round a fire
this year - he was always with us if he was down here - like in
2012, when Jenny and I tracked Ben and his friends coming all
the way up to Carn Bosavern from Phoenix Barn for the Mayan new
epoch); Beltane Eve/Maypole dancing (again, something that Ben
loved to join in with); Summer Solstice (often at Boscawen
Un); and then St Just Feast/Samhain/el Dia de los Muertos.
Love, Andrew x]
