Burns Night (3)
Burns Night is 25th
January each year.
I have been celebrating it since Jenny introduced me to it back in the day
(I can't find any photos - just one way back in 2011, when I had a sausage
rather than haggis!!! And on my own...) but I guess we must have
started it 10 or more years ago.
I remember one occasion at Jenny's, with my Mum (and she died 5 years ago)
when I was so slaughtered at the end of the evening, I was very concerned
whether I could safely drive Mum home down the hill - no more than 1/2
mile...
Be that as it may, Burns Night 2022 became
significant, as the last time I saw Ben...see Burns
Night (1)
For some reason (maybe to do with the Sally Mann thoughts I
was reading around Burns Night 2023, the year after Ben was killed) there
are not very many photos of Burns Night over the last 4 years ... this is
one of the few, from last year (2025) of me "addressing the haggis"...

Anyway, we will be celebrating on Sunday night at Phoenix Barn, from 5 pm
onward: anyone who can get to PB at such short notice will be very welcome
- the haggis will "fill the groaning trencher" and it is "no skinking
ware"! There will neeps and tatties, cranachan, beer, whisky, kilts
to borrow and plenty of Burns to be declared!
And we will welcome sweet memories of Ben!!
