The chocolate of your childhood...updated!
[Ed: I am absolutely positive that Ben would have been SO into this
lovely 'delve' into childhood chocolate passions, and their modern Craft
Chocolate alternatives! This will also resonate
with the Corser family history in the shadow of the Rowntree's chocolate
factory, Joseph Rowntree School (where Nannie taught) and KitKats, which
funded and fueled my 7 month trip round Africa in 1972...]
Cocoa
Runners, the source of nearly all of my current chocolate
consumption (apart from that fed in from Ukraine through various
conduits!) are a wonderfully quirky organisation, who put out amusing
blogs (obviously, meant to stimulate consumption of craft
chocolate). Cocoa Runners have, in their latest blog, brought
together the (kind of) modern alternative versions of those chocolate
favourites from our childhood and young adulthood. Go here to
find an alternative poison to:
CDM (the purple)
Caramac
Twix
Toblerone
Fruit and Nut
Bounty
Mars Bar
Tony's Chocolonely Milk [Ed: what???!]
Terry's Chocolate Orange
Ferrero Rocher
After Eight
[...although no KitKat!!! ... and only After Eight from
Rowntree's...]
Maybe we could do a chocolate bar blow out at the reWake for 2024: I also
like beer with chocolate..!! Of course, this is all very
Zoe-compliant: another craze that I am sure Ben would have embraced.
