Mexico comes to Phoenix Barn...
Morelia has arrived at Phoenix Barn - she has been here just over a week
now.
One of the things she brought with her was this picture from Nata, a close
friend of both Morelia and Ben.
After I picked More up at Victoria, we visited a couple of Ben's London
'haunts'...
Here in Cornwall, Morelia has met Tom and Emily, and Paul B, Jenny and
Linda; and over the time she is here in the UK we are hoping that she can
meet up with some more of Ben's family and friends in Cornwall, and
elsewhere.
[Ed: we have had emails from Luke and Penny:]
From Luke: Please let More know we want to embrace her and thank her for
being with Ben during his last days on earth, a time when he seemed to be
so happy. We appreciate her x
From Penny: oh andrew, incredible, soooooo good she's here, welcome
more-sooooooo good you are here, soooo much love to you all

Update on Morelia's trip...
To update everyone: Morelia arrived safely back in
Mexico on 6th November.
I was very pleased that she was here in Cornwall to celebrate Dia de
los Muertos with us on 2nd November, but I think she needed to get
back home...it is her first time 'travelling', and to start with such a
momentous trip was understandably a little overwhelming. She told me
she hopes to be back in Cornwall, perhaps during the Summer rather than
going into Winter as this time!!
While she was here, she celebrated my birthday with me and the family;
she travelled back up to London with Tom in the removals van, but decided
against a spell up there;
on her return, Paul Betowski played a substantial role in helping her
settle in, travel around and find cultural events she enjoys (punk in
Cornwall? You bet ya!);
they even made it up to Liverpool (Morelia told me later that she had set
on going to Liverpool for her
when she was 14, but her parents told her they couldn't afford it...so the
trip to Liverpool was somewhat loaded with significance for her!) and
dropped in on Bristol to meet up with some of Ben's Bristol Diving School
mates.
We
also did a quick dash up to the Witch museum in Boscastle, and walked up
to St Nectan's Kieve, always worth a visit, even when full of tourists!
Scamp and I also took her to
Sancreed Holy Well...
'Next' time I have said to her that we will try to take our time a little
more, and not be in such a rush. She is now in a position to plan a
little more sensibly beforehand, if and when she comes back to visit us...
Thank you to everyone who made Morelia so welcome - it has not really been
easy for any of us - I like to think that she felt cared for, even though
she was very much out of her comfort zone at times!
And I very much hope that she is able to come and visit us all again (or
maybe even be here longer while studying...). Morelia did invite me
to go over to Mexico, but agreed with me when I said that I felt the
prospect was too dangerous for me to contemplate!
¡Que haya luz! Kerenza ha yeghes da! Dad/Grandpa/Andrew x
